The Seventies style has been back for a few seasons and isn't going anywhere: warm colors, graphic patterns, knotted scarves. The risk, with vintage, is the costume effect. Here is how to capture the spirit without falling into dressing up.
The right patterns
Paisley, optical geometries, stylized flowers, multicolored stripes in earth tones: these are the prints that say "70s" at first glance. On our accessories, you can find them on silk, chiffon, and crepe, often cut from real vintage fabrics.
The fabrics
- Chiffon and printed silk: for scarves and knotted headbands, the most authentic way.
- Velvet: for turbans and padded headbands, in shades like rust, mustard, bottle green.
- Lurex knit: that disco shimmer that looks good in a mini version (a thin band, not covering the whole head).
How to wear them without overdoing it
The rule is only one vintage element at a time. Patterned turban + the rest of the look clean and contemporary. Scarf knotted in the hair + jeans and a plain top. If you put pattern, color, and retro cut together, you look like you're in costume.
Unique pieces
Many of our vintage fabric accessories exist in only one example: when that fabric runs out, the piece is gone. You can find them in the vintage collection. For the most wearable Seventies style, also take a look at turbans and bandanas.
