The crochet hat has become one of the most sought-after pieces of recent years — lightweight, artisanal, and unlike anything found in stores. But "crochet hat" encompasses many different shapes. Here is how to find your way.
The styles
Bucket hat. Short, stiff brim all around, bucket-shaped crown. It is the most versatile and the most "trendy". It looks great with hair down, braids, or bangs. In cotton for summer, or wool or lurex blends for the mid-season.
Bonnet. Fits snugly to the head, with no brim or a small visor, often finished with pearls or crystals on the edge. Elegant, a bit retro. Perfect with hair tied up or short; it covers the ears well.
Beret. Soft crown that falls to the side. Parisian style, worn tilted. Looks beautiful with long hair left loose underneath.
Mesh hat. Openwork construction, often with sequins or crystals. It is an evening or special occasion piece, not for warmth — the mesh lets the hair peek through.
With what hair
- Long hair: bucket hat and beret, worn loose or in a side braid.
- Short / shaved hair: snug bonnet, which shapes the head.
- Bangs: bucket hat worn slightly back to keep them visible.
- Voluminous curls: soft beret, which accommodates the volume instead of flattening it.
Why it costs more than an industrial hat
A crochet hat represents hours of manual work: an average bucket hat takes a full day, a bonnet with embellishments even longer. There is no machine that can crochet: every row is made by a person. That is why we produce them in very small batches and often as a one-of-a-kind piece per color.
How to care for it
Hand wash in cold water, without wringing: press gently and lay flat to dry on a towel, shaping it as you go. Never hang it (it will lose its shape) and never tumble dry. Between uses, store it stuffed with tissue paper to maintain the crown shape.

You can find all our styles in the hats collection and the rest of our handmade work in the crochet collection. Every piece is made to order: if you would like a color you don't see, just ask us.
